Educational Objective: Develop your skills as both baker and artist as you create artisan breads, traditional European-style pastries and towering, beautifully decorated cakes. Our Baking Arts program will take you through the basics of commercial baking and into the fine art of high-end, innovative bread and dessert preparation. Study traditional baking methodology and current trends. Satisfy your artistic drive while dabbling in confectionary art, using chocolate, marzipan and creative decorating techniques. Learn not only how to bake, but why ingredients react in various ways to create the results you want. Complete an internship at The Bakery at the Historic Reserve and other local businesses during the last four weeks of this program to test your new skills.
Our Baking Arts program is aligned with the American Culinary Federation Accrediting Commission. Our program also provides instruction to prepare students for national certification as certified through the American Culinary Federation.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
